Black Lava Baroque Pearl Beaded Necklace — Study in Contrast: Fire and Sea No. 9 | M.M. Artifacts

Deeply asymmetric and avant-garde — one half raw earth and volcanic stone, the other an eruption of pearl and gold. The Study in Contrast: Fire and Sea No. 9 Necklace evokes the meeting of fire and sea, darkness and light, the volcanic island rising from the ocean floor.

One side composed almost entirely of matte black lava rock beads — round, porous, deeply textured with a raw volcanic surface — interspersed with delicate pink shell discs creating sharp, graphic stripes of contrast against the black. Small deep blue lapis beads serve as quiet punctuation at the beginning of an extraordinary asymmetric cascade of baroque and keshi pearls.

Natural textural matte black lava rock with natural pink shell and a variety of luminous natural baroque and keshi pearls mixed with tiny lapis and gold filled beads — strung on 24k gold beading wire and finished with a 14k gold filled toggle clasp and findings.

Measures 17 inches / 44cm in length.
